Maardu  City Cemetery was officially opened by the Town Government  in October 1997. Location was chosen due to the self-activity of the population - people began to bury the dead in the old career. By the end of 2011 there had been about  1380 burials in the cemetery. There is also erected a  Second World War memorial.
